There are many types of payments you can receive from uTest
- Approved bugs: Payout per approved bug is determined by an assessment of customer value.
- Approved test cases: Testers will get paid after completing test cases in our test cycles.
- Bonuses: Some test cycles might offer a bonus payout for some specific testers. It will be paid after your reports or test cases have been approved.
- Usability surveys: Testers will be paid for completing usability surveys in which testers provide feedback on the application's user interface.
- Other tasks: some testers may receive payments for test case creation (manual), automated test script creation, security reports, localization reports, load script writing, etc.
- In addition to submitting reports, you may also be invited to Bug Fix Verification test cycles. In these instances, you will see a test cycle with the words “Bug Fix Verification” noted in the test cycle name. When you click on this test cycle, you are presented with bugs that the customer has requested to be verified against a fix (and match your testing environment). At this time, all bug fix verifications are treated as test cases. Additionally, only select testers are invited to these Bug Fix Verification test cycles, including testers who originally submitted the “fixed” bugs
- Payout Rate: The payout rate for approved work depends on the project's complexity. It will not be the same for every cycle
- Value: Testers are paid more for higher-value issues as determined by the customer. Value isn’t always correlated with severity
- Testing Tier: High-rated testers are paid more than low rated testers. To understand more about rating. Please check out this Academy course: https://www.utest.com/academy/tracks/30/courses/tester-ratings
